Heating Ventilation and Cooiling and Health
In a recent review, we reviewed the myairtoday.com – HVAC literature on the effect of heating, ventilation and cooiling on health. In total, we found eleven relevant publications. Seven of these were published after 2003, and included both case reports and cross-sectional studies. HVAC use was associated with improved physiologic parameters and reduced cardiac stress, accelerated recuperation and increased physical activity, and decreased mortality for respiratory illness and heat illness.
HVAC systems are a crucial part of residential and medium-large industrial buildings, large office buildings, hospitals, and vehicles, as well as marine environments. In these environments, HVAC systems regulate temperature and humidity by using outside air to replace stale air in the building. By controlling these factors, HVAC systems are essential to ensure comfort and health. HVAC systems reduce energy costs by providing more comfortable indoor air. Heating and cooling systems also improve indoor air quality by regulating indoor temperatures. HVAC systems also generate heated water to run air conditioning coils and radiators. Hot water is also used to supply underfloor heating or radiators.
